Audrey's Recommendations

It's good to read something other than baby books

  • Joanne Harris: The Girl with No Shadow (published in the UK as The Lollipop Shoes)

  • Christopher Buckley: Boomsday

    Christopher Buckley: Boomsday
A must read for anyone in their 30s or 40s . . . it is Christopher Buckley at his best!

  • Christopher Buckley: Supreme Courtship

    Christopher Buckley: Supreme Courtship
I'm a huge Christopher Buckley! If you're in the mood for humorous, political satire, I highly recommend his books. My favorite is still Little Green Men, but I also enjoyed this book, one his latest.

  • Diane Setterfield: The Thirteenth Tale

    Diane Setterfield: The Thirteenth Tale
David gave me this book for Christmas in '06 and I love it! It is a well-written story of a famous novelist who asks a researcher to write her biography. The only problem is that the novelist has lived in the world of tales a bit too long. She has given her life story dozens of time, and every time it's a lie. So, as you her read her dark story, you are constantly wondering whether what she's telling now is the truth . . . yet another tale . . . or something in between.

  • Barbara Kingsolver: Prodigal Summer

    Barbara Kingsolver: Prodigal Summer
A sensual book about Mother Nature and human nature. As always, Kingsolver sucks you in and you end the book sad that you do not get to continue the journey with the characters.
